Sod Installation

New sod laid over properly prepared ground, for the spots where seed has already failed twice.

  • Licensed and insured
  • Free estimates
  • Family owned

Sometimes seed is not the answer. New construction, a bare patch that has failed twice, or a yard you need looking finished now. Sod gives you a lawn the same day, as long as the ground underneath it is prepared properly.

What is included

  • Ground prep first

Old dead turf stripped, soil loosened, grade smoothed out. Sod laid over compacted clay knits poorly and dies in the first dry spell.

  • Grading for drainage

We set the grade so water runs away from the house instead of pooling in the low spot you have been fighting.

  • Tight seams

Rolls laid in a staggered pattern with tight seams and cut clean around beds and walks, so it reads as a lawn and not a checkerboard.

  • A watering plan

New sod lives or dies on water in the first two weeks. We tell you exactly how much and how often before we leave.

How it works

  1. Measure and prep

Measure the area, strip out what is there, loosen and grade the soil so the sod has something to root into.

  2. Lay it tight

Fresh sod laid in staggered rows with tight seams, cut in clean around beds, walks and drives.

  3. First watering

We water it in before we leave and hand you a simple schedule. Follow it for two weeks and the sod knits down properly.

What it costs

Sod is quoted by square footage plus whatever prep the ground needs. Stripping out dead turf and grading adds to it, and skipping that step is why sod fails.

Estimates are free. We look at the property before we quote, so the number you get is the number.

Questions we get about sod installation

Is sod better than seed?

It is faster and it works in places seed struggles, like slopes that wash out or a yard you need usable now. Seed is cheaper. If you have time and the area is stable, overseeding is often the better value. We will tell you which one your situation actually calls for.

How long until I can walk on it?

Keep traffic off for about two weeks while it roots. After that light use is fine. Give it a full season before anything heavy.

How much water does new sod need?

A lot, and daily, for the first two weeks. That is the single thing that determines whether it takes. We give you the schedule before we leave the property.
